Free Art Exhibition

Cobble Creek Studios/James H. Ankrom Gallery is exhibiting the work of at least 15 local artists. The exhibition runs through February 28, 2011. Snellville Art Gallery Opens

In Snellville, Cobble Creek Studios and the James H. Ankrom Gallery, a contemporary art gallery featuring work from national, regional and local artists has announced plans for a grand opening.

The gallery will open Friday, December 3, 2010 with a reception from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. The public is invited to attend the reception & may RSVP by emailing info@deborahkepes.com.


Oil Painting by Wanda Locke
The opening exhibition will showcase a collection of works by Wanda Locke (1940-2008), an artist and muralist. Ms.Locke's art is in several impressive collections, including the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. Guests will be able to speak to family members of Ms. Locke and purchase some of her original art and giclee prints.

The event will also be an open house of the new Snellville art gallery. You can can view the artist’s studios and classroom. Deborah Ankrom Kepes, director/owner of Cobble Creek Studios & the James H. Ankrom Gallery instructs art classes for all levels and all ages.

Darla Dixon will be auctioning art by silent auction at the Snellville Farmers' Market in front of Snellville City Hall. When weather permits, she will be painting live from 8 am until noon. 100% proceeds of the art will go to the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry (our local food bank) For more information, contact Darla.Dixon@gmail.com



Ongoing:
Michelle Black of A Color Affair will be painting a large scale mural at Trip Elementary School in Grayson, Georgia. Trip Elementary is a newly built school in Gwinnett County, GA. Michelle is donating her time and talent to the school. She worked worked with the librarian for two months on this project. Michelle invites us all to watch as the project progresses. She'll post pictures every night as she creates the mural.
